The Leigh & John McNairy Library is located in Building 5 on the main campus of Lenoir Community College. 

The library has standard hours for fall/spring and for summer. The library hours may change depending on holidays. Check the library homepage for any changes.

Your LCC student/staff ID is your library card! Your library access is renewed each semester to ensure you are still enrolled in classes or employed at the college. As long as you are affiliated with the college, your library card is valid. Your full library card number is a five-digit prefex (20835-) and your LCC student ID; for example: 20835-1234567.

To get an LCC student ID, you must provide the following:

For curriculum students: Have a copy of your student schedule with your LCC ID number on it and a valid photo ID.

For continuing education students: Bring over the filled out yellow card from your instructor and a valid photo ID.

Absolutely. Libraries are not "shush" spaces anymore. We welcome conversation in the library as long as it's not disruptive. We ask you take phone calls outside the library or in the restroom as it can be disruptive to others. We ask you don't play anything out loud like music or YouTube videos.

There is a designated QUIET ZONE in the library on the second floor. That is an area we ask for silence.

Yes! We have an eating area by the front doors where anyone can eat meals. We ask you only eat meals in the designated eating area. Snacks are allowed anywhere in the library. An example of snacks are:

• Chips
• Granola bars
• Trail Mix

If you are not sure if your food is considered a meal or snack, simply ask a library staff member! 

Closed lid drinks are also allowed in the library.

We don't like to say you "can't" do something. We prefer you do not disrupt your fellow classmates! In general, it's best to follow the college's code of conduct.

Things we prefer you don't do include:

• Sleeping in the library
• Placing your feet on furniture
• Eating meals at the computers
• Running in the library
• Leave children alone in the library
• Yell or scream in the library
• Leave items unattended. The library is not liable for unattended items being stolen. Items left unattended for prolonged periods of time, they will be sent to Lost and Found at the security office in the Student Center.

If you cause any disruptions or potential safety risks in the library, we will give you a warning. If you don't comply, we will notify security.

There are many things you can check out from the library! Not only can you instantly access electronic content at any time, you have tons of physical materials you can check out! Materials include:

• Physical Books (check out time of 3 weeks)
• Ebooks and Audiobooks in Dogwood Digital Library (check out time of 3 weeks)
• DVDs (check out time of 1 week)
• Physical Audiobook CDs (check out time of 3 weeks)
• Piano keyboards (semester long check out, only for students in music classes)
• Laptops (for in-library use and extended use with proper qualifications)

NOTE: The library does not provide textbooks for classes. You will find textbooks at the bookstore in the Student Center (Building 2).

You can access library materials at home online. You will access the library website on your MyLCC portal, located near the bottom left of the page. This will automatically log you in to all of our resources. Once your on the library website, you can select what you'd like to access in the OneSearch area.
