Plagiarism and Citations

In short, plagiarism is using someone else's work as your own. If you plagiarize, there are very strict consequences, including failing a class, explusion from school, losing respect in your field, and even legal action.

To prevent plagiarizing, cite sources properly in your work. Different subjects have different citations styles. The most common are MLA, APA, and Chicago. Every citation and writing style has guidebooks to help you. You can also find help online at university writing centers.
